On Tuesday, September 22, we welcomed Dawn Ross to the museum for a special afternoon of storytelling as part of our Toonie Tea Tuesdays.
Dawn shared stories and memories from her life, offering a personal glimpse into her experiences, the people she’s known, and the changes she’s witnessed over the years.
We had a full house for the occasion, and it was wonderful to see so many people come together to listen, reminisce, and share in the afternoon.
A big thank you to Dawn for sharing her stories with us, and to everyone who joined us for another memorable Toonie Tea Tuesday!
On Tuesday, September 8, we welcomed Pemberton artist, illustrator, and first-time children’s author Natasha Louise (@artbynatashalouise) to the museum for another lovely afternoon of Toonie Tea Tuesdays.
Natasha shared a reading from her new children’s book, Riv’s Heart of Coal, created with her sister Shailen. It’s a gentle story about kindness, generosity, and the warmth that grows when we share it with others.
Natasha lives here in Pemberton with her three-year-old daughter, Lulu, and draws inspiration from the world around them.
Thank you, Natasha, for sharing your creativity and storytelling with us, and to everyone who joined us for the afternoon!
On Tuesday, September 1, we welcomed Kerry Dorey to the museum for an afternoon of poetry, music, and storytelling as part of our Toonie Tea Tuesdays.
A retired professional actor and singer, Kerry spent over 30 years performing on Toronto stages, including the world premiere of Lord of the Rings, an international tour of Les Misérables, and Mamma Mia at the Royal Alexandra Theatre. Originally from Nova Scotia, Kerry has called Pemberton home for the past seven years.
Kerry brought a little poetry, a little song, and plenty of talent to our Tuesday afternoon!
A big thank you to Kerry for sharing his talents with us, and to everyone who joined us for another Toonie Tea Tuesday!
We welcomed Vancouver Coastal Health to the museum for an informative afternoon of Toonie Tea Tuesdays, focusing on wildfire smoke and heat preparedness.
Their team shared practical tips for keeping indoor air cleaner, homes cooler, and staying safe and healthy during periods of extreme heat and wildfire smoke.
It was a great opportunity to learn some simple steps we can all take to be better prepared, while enjoying warm tea, fresh treats, and good company.
Thank you to Vancouver Coastal Health for sharing their knowledge and to everyone who joined us for the afternoon!
