One of a series of 32 photographs and post cards sent back to family in the old country by Samuel and Elizabeth Spetch after they immigrated to Canada in 1907. Caption on back; “This is the indians at their smoak (sic) houses, dry the salmon, you will see them hanging up in there, they keep a little fire burning underneath it till it is well smoaked (sic)”.
