Junket Rennet Tablets box

Image:
Description:
A Junket Rennet Tablets box donated by Clara Ronayne and it was made under the brand name “Junket”. It was manufactured by Salada Foods Incorporated and Kellogg Company, Little Falls, New York. The company was found in 1874 by Christian Hansen in Denmark first made as a rennet extract for the cheese making industry. The marketing expanded in 1878 around the United States in New York as it was the only major cheese making industry at that time. In current years, the brand is now owned by Junket Foods LLC, a St. Louis Missouri company known for its rich history in ice cream. Junket/Rennet tablets are normally a common source for making cheese, though later on they can now be used for desserts, such as rennet custard and ice cream. The tablets said on the bottom of the box do not have sweetened or flavoured alternatives, meaning that the tablets are specifically used for non-sugared desserts. According to the gift form, the Junket Rennet Tablets box goes with the wooden cylinder also containing tablets.
