First Prize Ribbons

This is a collection of first prize ribbons mounted on cardboard back and sheathed in a plastic covering. The first two read “B.C. 14th Annual Potato and Vegetable Show” – 1st and 2nd Prize ribbons from 1954, New Westminster B.C. The third ribbon reads “Royal Winter Fair 1954 – Seeds – 2nd Prize”. The last two read “Royal Agricultural Winter Fair – Vegetables – 3rd and 4th prize – 1973-1974”. There is also a typed tag mounted on the plastic sheath that reads “Russet Burbank – Edmond Ronayne”. This is from a collection of agricultural awards, ribbons and trophies received from Rosemary Walden that belonged to her uncle Edmond Oswald Ronayne, her father’s first cousin.
