Online Exhibit: Ray Elliott Photos

A Glance at Pemberton in the 1900s

These are a series of Ray Elliott photographs from the early 1900’s.  Ray was a pack train operator on the Pemberton Trail and was an early Pemberton resident.

His son Gordon Elliott was the consultant and editor of “Pemberton: History of a Settlement,” published by the Pemberton Pioneer Women’s Committee in 1977.  The photographs were donated when Gordon passed away.

The last photograph in the gallery is of Port Pemberton and was taken by Charles Gentile in the 1860s.
