potato sorter

Image:
Description:
Potato Sorter. This piece of equipment is rectangular shaped with a metal conveyor belt and metal paddles to direct the flow of potatoes as they moved along the conveyor into appropriate bags. It has three lights overhead and was electric powered which meant potatoes could now be sorted by workers day and night. Florence Bilenduke recalls that this item was donated by the Nichols family (upper valley). There is no documentation to confirm this so it is accessioned as FIC but is likely from the old Nichols farm in the upper valley. Prior to Nichols owning the farm it was owned by Coopers.
