A "sourdough" on the Douglas Trail, 1858

The Douglas Trail was constructed in the fall of 1858. This was the first public works project on the mainland. It was initiated by Governor Douglas to ensure food and freight could be transported to the goldfields inland.

SUMMER 2010

  • TEA & TALES begins Tuesday July 13th, 2010 to Aug 24th, 2pm-4pm. Visitors can enjoy tea, coffee or juice and homebaked treats for $2 at the Museum's Tea & Tales program every Tuesday. Each week tea-goers are invited to listen to a local tale presented by a Pemberton resident on various themes connected to life in the valley. The presentations are filmed for the historic record in the Soo Building. Or visitor's can simply just enjoy the grounds and have tea with a friend in the shade of the cedars.
  • July 13th - Local Artists - Two local artists: Karen Love, Meg Gallup
  • July 20th - Growing Up in Pemberton with Cathy Konkle- Co-production with Pemberton Library.  Part 1, Part 2, Part 3
  • July 27th - Pemberton Wetlands - Veronica Woodruff
  • Aug 03rd - Early Medical Services - Bob Priest

  • MUSIC AT THE MUSEUM Saturday August 7th.  This is an all day event showcasing Pemberton's local musical talent - youth and adults.  Great day out at the museum for families and children.
