Starting in 2008, the museum has run a program called Tea & Tales each summer. Every Tuesday during July and August the museum hosts a tea and brings in a speaker to talk about various topics relating to Pemberton's History. The following videos are sections of each talk. Accession 011.13
  | Tea & Tales - Bird Watching with Ruth HellevangOn July 14, 2009 Ruth Hellevang presented at the Pemberton Tea & Tales program. Ruth's passion is bird-watching and she has been bird-watching in the area since she moved to Pemberton with her husband Elmer in the 1950's. Approximately 20 years ago, Ruth began a life list and diligently records all the birds she sees at her farm at the end of the Upper Pemberton Valley road and submits the list, once a month, to the University of Victoria. Ruth has sparked the bird-watching passion in many people over the years and there is currently a group of "birders" that meet on a regular basis to compare notes and to participate in the annual Christmas count.Watch Video |

 | Mayor Shirley Henry - Pemberton town development 1970sMayor Shirley Henry talks about Pemberton's development from 1970 -1980 in this short version of her presentation about Pemberton town development from 1956-2006. Shirley was the first female mayor sworn in at the Village of Pemberton and she was the 12th mayor to serve. She served the town of Pemberton for fifteen years as Mayor and also served as a Councillor from 1975-1978. Shirley believed in the importance of the community memory and her notes from this presentation were an important addition to the community archives.Watch Video |

We are located in the downtown area of Pemberton at 7455 Prospect St.
Hours of Operation
The Pemberton Museum is currently CLOSED for the winter and will reopen to the public in the spring of 2025.
Meetings
The PDMAS Society meets on the 2nd Wednesday of each month at the Museum.
Our 2024 AGM will be held July 10 at 7pm.

Port Pemberton was founded as a stopping point on the historic Harrison-Lillooet gold rush trail over 160 years ago.
30,000 gold-rushers passed through this region from 1858 to 1865 and Port Pemberton was an important stopping point for travelers making their way to Lillooet and the gold-fields beyond!
