Sergeant James Dewar Macdonald
Description:
James Dewar Macdonald was born Jan 7, 1920 in Regina. He dropped out of school at age 14 when his father died and went to work in the family newspaper business. In 1940 he enlisted [in WW2] and spent six years in Holland, England and France in the rank of Sergeant. On his return, he married and raised a family in Georgetown, Ontario. After retirement, Jim moved to Pemberton to be with his daughters and grandchildren. Each November, he would visit the local schools to talk with local students about his experiences as a soldier.
