Description:
Message being handed off to a moving train. The procedure was to tie the rolled material with string and attach it to a long pole with a "Y" end. As the engine or caboose passed the station person would hold the stick up with the message affixed to the "Y" and the train personel would scoop the message up with his arm as the train passed.

Trestle
Description:
Old wooden trestle across the Lillooet River by the overpass on Urdall Road. The railings were made of wood as were the pilings. This was replaced ca 1970 with the present trestle.

Description:

Description:
Jan writes on the back of the photo "Original P.G.E. R.R. Bridge (wooden railings) across the Lillooet River 1969 (maybe 68) I believe it was replaced just after as we we(sic) here then)" [processors comment "personally I believe this to be the old trestle bridge that spanned the Lillooet River and was destroyed when it collapsed under a loaded logging truck (see photos - Henry, George and Starks Collections)].

Trap Cabin
Description:
Located on the Fulton Lands upstream from the trestle. This cabin belonged to Bob Taylor and is believed to have been used for trapping but they also used to plant potatoes and turnips there in the summer. The cabin has been vandalized, at some point someone removed several of the roofing planks.

Prince of Wales
Description:
Remains of the steamship "Prince of Wales". These ruins are located in a tributary near the Birkenkead River. At the time the ship was abandoned (ca 1860) it would have been the shore of Lillooet Lake.
