Sewing Machine and Cabinet
Description:
A 1964 singer sewing machine in cabinet. "I was born in Squamish B.C. , but raised in Pemberton B.C. I was one the first grades (grade five, I believe) in the signal hill elementary school , when it first opened. My mother Anne decker, married to Jim Decker was an excellent Seamstress and I remember as a teenager her making me skirts for school ( Knee length, of course) which I promptly rolled up at the waist line once I was out of her sight!"

Pear Corers
Description:
Small tools with wooden handles and metal heads. Handles are round and metal heads. Handles are round of natural wood. Irregularly shaped heads, of thin metal bands, are formed to scoop cores from halved pears. Metal collars encircle narrowed section joining heads and handles. 984 .1.8 has a strip of black tape nearly surrounding the handle. On this tool the collar is loose. 984.1.9 is sound. Mrs. Collister is said to have used these in a cannery, probably in Richmond, where she earned fees to attend V.G.H. School of Nursing. In 1953 she came to Pemberton and probably brought the tools with her.

Pelton Wheel
Description:
Pelton wheel manufactured in the 1920's and possibly used around Birken B.C. at the school. Louis Potvin used the pelton wheel to power his home, office and shop since 1962. The unit produced 12,000 watts when connected to a generator.

saw and drive mechanism
Description:
This is a power saw and has a cut off blade on a bar with a drive mechanism that belong together. This was used at Frank's shake block mill which was located approximately where the Pemberton Health Clinic and Pemberton Secondary School is now located. Blade is from 1958-1959 on and was acquired after the mill was closed down.
