HS Waffelbackerei rosette wafter iron box
Description:
A blue, red, and white HS Waffelbackerei rosette wafter iron box a) that comes with four other rosette iron pieces that was probably used by Teresa Summerskill and it was donated by Laura Burden. b) is a red iron handle attached with a thin metal rod at the bottom, c) is a flower-cookie shaped iron piece, d) is a butterfly shaped cookie iron piece, and e) is a star shaped cookie iron piece. The box also comes with a hand written note and a recipe for making Rosette Bakkels, in which at the bottom refers to the recipe being referenced from "The Complete Scandinavian Cook Book" by Alice B. Johnson. The rosette iron set would be used to make cookie-like desserts, and that the origin descent is from Norway. The name "rosetbakkelser", also comes from Norway. Aside from being used in traditional aspects within Norway and Germany, the cooking technique is used in many other cultures. The brand name, Waffelbackerei, is a west german company, inscribing that the rosette iron set was manufactured there. For donor biography see description for 021.10.01.

Boxing Tool
Description:
Boxing tool. Pair of pliers with several features added. On end of one handle is screwdriver. End of other handle is flat with a triangle cut out of end to form two prongs about 0.6 cm long. On the back of one side of the head of the pliers is a rectangular hammer, on the back of the other side is a small axe.

This item belonged to Mrs. Ben Sally (Sara) Cherry who was previously married to Mr. Purden. Phone box with headset that would have been used on the Purden Farm. Model "N1293RA" by Western Electric U.S.A. Mouth piece is mounted to the phone box and the headset has an earphone. Headset is attached to phone box with cloth covered wire.

McEwan's farm acrylic painting
Description:
An acrylic painting of the McEwan farm with a wooden frame donated by the Walker family. The painting depicts the farm in a wilderness setting surrounded by pine trees, and a pond or lake in the far left corner. The name of the artist is unknown, as there is no signature or given date, although it is assumed that it was painted by one of the McEwan family members. The back of the frame is held by a thin paper sheet and on the bottom right corner has a label sticker titled, "Hudson's Bay Company (Incorporated 2 May 1670) - Pictures and Mirrors" and has two lined boxes of "Date" and "No." "No." has the number written of "3217". From this sticker, this painting was likely framed at Hudson's Bay Company.

first aid kit
Description:
A metal first aid kit that is white in colour a) titled "First Aid- Safety Supply Company - British Columbia No. 1 Kit" on the front and it was donated by Katrina Chevrette. It was found on the McEwan farm. It was manufactured by the Safety Supply Company brand in Vancouver, Victoria, British Columbia. It was shown on a printed label inside the kit, which also describes some of the packet content that is required from each branded kit (No. 01 kit, No. 1., No. 2). The first aid kit comes with a Sentinel Instructions pamphlet, two Hand Cleaners and Gauze Sponges in a packet b) and c), three Adhesive Dressings d), e), and f), one 2" Compress Bandage and one 4" g) and h), one Burn Treatment i), one Compressed Gauze j), one Triangular Bandage k), one Adhesive Tape and Roller Bandage l), one Antiseptic m), two Sterile Eye Pads and Adhesive Eye Strips along with Ophthalmic Ointment n), one Sucrets Sore Throat Lozenges tin with a small pill wrapped up in plastic o), one Red Bird small matches box p), and one pair of scissors and tweezers q) and r). The kit is wrapped up in duct tape on the back. It also has a strong, tangy odor when opened.

Priest's Buggy
Description:
1) A high light-weight horse drawn wagon with one seat, really a democrat. The wagon was once used by the Oblate Priest who travelled between Port Douglas and 29 Mile House. Shafts are missing, sections of plank make the red painted box frame. Six boards nailed to boards below them make the floor within the frame. The seat is a piece of plank with strips of lighter board on the back and on both ends. Secured by two metal straps screwed to the seat area is an elevated back rest. The wheels have metal tires and wooden spokes ; back wheels are larger than the front set. Tied to the wooden back axle and at right angles to it are two sets of metal leaf springs. The front spring is parallel to the front axle. A reach connects the two axles Condition: In general, all metal is rusted. The wheels are disintegrating. 2) [October 2013] - this wagon was rebuilt in 2011 including the box and the wheels. The wheels were constructed by a wheelwright from Armstrong BC. The local Catholic church provided private funding for the new wheels. All that remains of the original artifact is the undercarriage and suspension and axels. The box was rebuilt by George Henry. The wagon was re-painted by museum staff.

7Up Shipping Box
Description:
This is a wooden box used for holding "7Up" bottles. There is a red "7Up" label stamped on all four sides and it is held together with nails and staples. The maker's mark is stamped on the inside and it says "Blue Label Beverage" and "Calgary, Alta" on opposite sides as well as the number "4774."

A guitar lessons book. The front cover has a palm tree and a luau girl. It reads "Hello Honolulu Eddie Alkine's Hawaiian Guitar Solo". It also has hand written signature on the cover and it reads "D. sawchuk". On the bottom right corner there's a stamp and it reads "A. P. GEROW Box 396 Revelstoke, B. C. Can". We believe this item is connected to 015.15.02 [See Note].

Carpenter's Tool Box
Description:
Carpenter's tool box containing a) pin pliers, b) awl, c) gimlet, d) saw set, e) parallel pliers, f) hand drill with three augers (g-i) plus the wooden case (k). Tools were very rusted and were cleaned and oiled by Monty Savage [Volunteer]. Great example of a basic tool kit. This object had been left at the museum by unknown donor and was found in the Soo Bldg. attic.
