Description:
This hand made blouse of fine crème coloured material is decorated with diamond shaped motifs of narrow braid. It is a simple shape with boat shape neckline and dropped shoulders to form short sleeves. It shows many signs of wear. It was owned by Mrs. Geoffrey Downton.

Description:
This camisole is made of very fine white cotton and has had the bottom cut off and left un-hemmed. There are 12 button holes and 10 buttons down the back. The buttons are .8 cm. in width and are mother of pearl. There is a fine lace trim around armholes and neck. The front is mostly lace and embroidered flowers. This garment shows some signs of wear but on the whole is in good condition. The lace on arm holes and neckline has ribbon beading to be laced through. Item is made of cotton. It has some discoloration from staining, and age.

Description:
This camisole is made of white embroidered cotton or linen with ribbon beading along the top. There is a narrow elastic to gather the waist although this has lost its stretch. It was owned by Mrs. Geoffrey Downton. The item is in fair condition. There is a tear in the centre of the cutout detail at the top of the article. There is a stain on the bottom right corner along the hem which looks like rust. Both straps are missing. You can see where they would have been attached by looking at the top hem of the garment on the inside.

This camisole is made of white silky material with a 9 cm wide band at the top. This garment is home made by machine and by hand. There is a hem at the bottom for elastic to be threaded through. The shoulder straps show wear but the rest of the garment is in good condition. The elastic has lost its stretch. It was owned by Mrs. Geoffrey Downton.

"This is a child's dress. It is made of cloth covered with blue and pink flowers surrounded by leaves. It has fancy linings and trim as well as a hanging pocket for decoration and a rolled and stuffed hem. First owner of the dress was probably Marjory Gimses grandmother. Her daughter Mrs. Downton wore it as did Marjory Gimse(Downton)"

Cloth bag
Description:
This sand coloured bag is made of a linen like material. It is hand sewn with tiny even stitches. It is hand embroidered with the word chemisettes in blue. One corner is torn but the rest is still strong. There are three small holes. This bag was owned by Mrs. Geoffrey Downton. This is a superb example of the art of hand sewing.

Description:
This blue romper was made for Marjory by her mother, Mrs. Geoffrey Downton. It is machine sewn and of blue cotton. The neckline is square with three mother of pearl buttons at the closure. There are gathers at the waist and three buttons to make a closure between the legs. One button is missing. This garment shows much fading and wear.

Crème coloured scarf. Machine hemmed on both ends and down one side. A fold on the other side. The material is possibly rayon and is in good condition with four small holes in one layer of the material. A slight discolouration in some spots. This scarf belonged to Marjory's mother Mrs. Geoffrey Downton
