School & Cabin Construction June-Dec
See the progress made with the Pemberton Station School & Arn Cabin project from June to December 2021. This project was made possible thanks to funding from Heritage Canada, Heritage BC and the Province of BC, Squamish Lillooet Regional District, Village of Pemberton, the Enabling Accessibility Fund, Whistler Blackcomb Foundation, Pemberton Women’s Institute and the Citizens of Pemberton. National Day for Truth and Reconciliation Sept 30th
This day honours the lost children and Survivors of residential schools, their families and communities. Public commemoration of the tragic and painful history and ongoing impacts of residential schools is a vital component of the reconciliation process. The Museum will be closed on the first National Day for Truth and Reconciliation to recognize the tragedy of residential schools in Canada and their impact yesterday and today. [more]

The Schoolhouse Takes Shape!
This past month saw a lot of work on the Schoolhouse building once the trusses arrived. The crew continued the hard work of bracing and strapping through another lengthy hot spell. [more]

The John Arn Cabin Construction Progress Update
Work continues on the John Arn Cabin and the sage crew of Ian McLeod and Dwayne Dick have managed to save a top log by replacing a tendon with new material. A hand whittled dowel that was used to fasten the logs together was salvaged by Ian and given to the Curator for safekeeping. [more]

Schoolhouse Project - Enabling Accessibility Fund awarded
We are thrilled to announce the museum was successful in its request for funding for the Pemberton Station School project from the Government of Canada’s Enabling Accessibility Fund. The museum will see an investment of $36,793 in funding for the project which will ensure accessibility to this new educational programming and exhibit space at the Pemberton Museum. [more]

CURRENTLY SEEKING SUMMER/FALL MUSEUM GUIDE The museum is currently looking for someone to join our team! Including some of the following: Deliver guided tours to individuals and groups as required including adults and children. Connect visitors to local and regional history through guided tours that highlight artifacts and information from the Pemberton Museum’s collection. Provide assistance to all visitors to ensure they can access the museum and its displays and resources. [more]
