Horse Harness

Description:

Harness including two bent bars of metal now rusted, attached to two long strips of worn leather which in turn are attached to chains. Sam Robinson helped Walker make the harness in the 1940's. Walker used the harness on his logging horses. They are in fair condition.

This is a rusted steel mule shoe. Doubtless dates from the period of the Gold Rush Traffic. The toe is raised a bit, indicating there may have been a toe there at some point but it has since worn down. Ends of the shoe are raised. This item is severely rusted all over.
