Description:

A blue textbook titled "The Canadian Speller GRADE 5" there is an illustration of dip pen and a ink well on the cover. On the spine it reads "QUANCE The Canadian Speller 5 GAGE". The book is bound in buckram. In side on the blank page "Ella" is handwritten in pencil on the top center of the page. The items belong to Allen McEwan's grandmother and grandfather, Bertha (nee. Collins) and Morgan Miller. Jean McEwan, Allen's mother, put the donation box together. There were several ephemera items extracted from the book associated with Morgan Miller that will be described in the archive register.

Description:

A meat grinder made by the Spong Company of England. On the top funnel on one side the makers mark reading "SPONG" is embossed on the other side "NO 8015 SPONG". Below the makers mark it reads "MADE IN ENGLAND", on the opposite side it reads. The items belong to Allen McEwan's grandmother and grandfather, Bertha (nee. Collins) and Morgan Miller. A tin cigar box with much decoration on it - in lid and outside. Contained 25 cigars. The top has a picture of " Edward Prince of Wales" "Our Future King" There is still part of an excise ticket on the bottom. Condition: The hinged back still works. The box is dented, scratched & worn. The different decorations are worn.

Description:

Two wooden crates for Dynamite. On the short sides of box a) it reads "50 LB 24=6=60 C-I-L DITCHING DYNAMITE 50% 1/4X8 C-I-L". On the top of box a) it reads "Pemberton Valley F.I" in blue handwriting. On the short sides of box b) it reads "50LB 13=9=60 FORCITE 60% PERFORATED 1X8 CARTRIDGES C-I-L". both of the long sides are the same on each crate. One of the long sides reads "Made in Canada by Canadian Industries Limited', which is what C-I-L stands for. Under that it reads "Factories at James Island, B.C; Beloeil, P.Q.; Brainerd, Man.; Nobel, Ontario; Calgary, Alta.". On the other long side it reads "High EXPLOSIVES-- DANGEROUS CLASS III - DIVISION B.T.C 14". The item was found on the Perkins brothers lot.

A plastic bag full of coupons and box ends. a) is seven box ends for "MONARCH MARGARINE". b) is 12 cut up box tops for Kellogg's cereal most likely corn flakes. c) 12 box ends for "Blue Bonnet" margarine". d) eight box ends for solo margarine. e) two coupons that have an illustration of a rose and say "Save this valuable ALL SWEET ROSE TOKEN". f) two box ends for "CP Margene". g) three large black and white coupons from Blue Bonnet. h) one small red coupon from "NABOB FOODS". The items were found on the Perkins brothers lot.
