Two Metal Gasoline Cans

Two Metal Gasoline Cans

Description:

These are two red metal gas cans. The paint has faded/flaked off so the metal shows. Both have "Gasoline" written on them in white paint. They have spouts for pouring as well as a capped hole used to fill the can. Both have handles and are fairly tarnished. This item was used by Peggy's husband Bill Perfitt in D'arcy B.C. and he worked in a fire camp for B.C.F.S. in the 1970-80s.

Chainsaw motor with auger attachment

Description:

A McCulloch chainsaw with auger attachment. The makers mark states "McCulloch super 797 McCulloch Corporation - Los Angeles, California Patent No. 3 269 713" and this tool was used to drill holes in bridge timbers. It was used locally to build logging bridges.

Candle holder. Used for holding a candle, could be used to orient candle several different ways. Metal spike, curled to form a loop at other end. Circular band for holding candle attached to one side and hook on opposite side. String is attached to loop and has metal aglets on ends.

Description:

Saw. Handle was originally painted blue. "S. D. & A. co. Galt Canada" on handle. Weight is approximately three pounds. Perkins Bros. Logging. This is a ripping hand saw. It is not dead flat, and has a rocker to it. This saw was for cutting material fast. It was the best saw you could buy in the 1960's.

This is a logging block used in logging operations 100 years ago. It was found buried and attached to a logging sleigh at Spring Creek at the head of Harrison lake by the donor It is round in shape and made out of metal. Makers mark is barely legible and reads, "DARL FOR".

saw and drive mechanism

Description:

This is a power saw and has a cut off blade on a bar with a drive mechanism that belong together. This was used at Frank's shake block mill which was located approximately where the Pemberton Health Clinic and Pemberton Secondary School is now located. Blade is from 1958-1959 on and was acquired after the mill was closed down.

Large Metal Block

Large Metal Block

Description:

This large steel block (pulley) is rusted and made of metal. There is a U-shaped piece of metal at the top of this block which is attached to two pieces of semi heart shaped metal by two pins (one on each end of the U). Near the bottom of the two semi-heart shaped pieces of metal are two octagonal holes (one in each piece of metal). There is an axle put through the holes which hold the pulley between the two pieces of metal and let it turn freely. The metal is in poor condition and bears inscription [barely visible], "Rope master K No. 110R Patents Pending". History: the block dates possibly from the time of Andy Devine (World War II period or later). Recently found by 11 year old Brent when he was looking for mushrooms up the Blackwater road above Oberson's.

Headlight Bracket

Headlight Bracket

Description:

This is a partial headlight assembly. The main body is cylindrical, the headlight bucket is conical. It is black and rust coloured and made of metal. There is a bracket at each end where it would attach to the bumper of a vehicle. One light bucket is missing. History: found at the junction of 8 Milk Creek and Gates River, near the Gimse's property and an old lumber mill.
