Description:

This camisole is made of very fine white cotton and has had the bottom cut off and left un-hemmed. There are 12 button holes and 10 buttons down the back. The buttons are .8 cm. in width and are mother of pearl. There is a fine lace trim around armholes and neck. The front is mostly lace and embroidered flowers. This garment shows some signs of wear but on the whole is in good condition. The lace on arm holes and neckline has ribbon beading to be laced through. Item is made of cotton. It has some discoloration from staining, and age.

"This is a child's dress. It is made of cloth covered with blue and pink flowers surrounded by leaves. It has fancy linings and trim as well as a hanging pocket for decoration and a rolled and stuffed hem. First owner of the dress was probably Marjory Gimses grandmother. Her daughter Mrs. Downton wore it as did Marjory Gimse(Downton)"

Tablecloth

Description:

Hand made, hand embroidered table cloth. Fine cotton material, Marjory thinks it came from India. The cloth is crème coloured. The embroidery is blue, pale yellow, and pink, and is in the shape of many flowers, stems and leaves. There are six lines of drawn work starting 15 cm from the edge and ending 2 cm from the edge The initials J.A. are in ink in one corner. The #3011- possibly a laundry mark- is inked in another corner. This cloth is in fairly good condition with a few stains on it. This cloth belonged to Marjory's mother Mrs. Geoffrey Downton.

Description:

These women's drawers are made of fine white cotton. They are hand stitched with tiny even stitches. There is a hem at the top for a draw string. The bottom 20 cm are decorated with embroidered flowers. The legs are almost separate. These drawers were owned Mrs. Geoffrey Downton, and were donated to the museum by her granddaughter Marjory Gimse.

A set of three ceramic salt cellars. They are white with gold feet and a gold rim around the inside. The gold rim has white and blue flowers around it. they read "M.Furuya CA. Yokohama. Japan" a. It doesn't have any chips and is in perfect condition. b. It has a chip on the gold inner part. c. it has a chip on the gold inner part above a white flower. We think this item may be from the early 1900s. These items belonged to Frances Decker of Pemberton B.C. who got them from English relatives living in Ontario.

A set of four yellow ceramic plates. They all have gold edges that have faded. The plate has two sets of flowers, one on either side. They have been pained with crackle coating, on the bottom it reads "Devon Rose 22 Karat GOLD British Empire Ware ". These belonged to Frances Decker of Pemberton B.C.
