School House Stomp A Success
The School House Stomp Bluegrass and Cornroast Dinner was a great success and we made over $3500 on this inaugural fundraiser. The museum is fundraising to move the Pemberton Station School and John Arn Cabin to the museum by 2020. The Courageous Mountain Rangers provided fantastic entertainment for the evening and there were people dancing until the band started to pack up. Betty Mercer and Debbie Shier spent most of the week on dinner preparations and attendees were not disappointed with the roast beef, buns, corn, potatoes, coleslaw, beans and desserts provided. The dinner would not have been possible without these talented ladies and the volunteer time they put into this event.
The Rotary Club of Pemberton and Pemberton Valley Supermarket provided pop up tents so there were some places for people to take shelter from the light rain that came and went through the evening. Pemberton Valley Supermarket also provided the community BBQ and donated some of the food for the evening. Thank you to the new Town Square restaurant who donated a $50 gift certificate for the door prize and the winner was thrilled!
Special thanks to our volunteers who helped to make this event so special: Fran Cuthbert, Grace and Stuart Chadsey, Judy & Stew McNolty, Brenda McLeod, Carmen Praine, Sarah Daws, Larry Cosulich, Brian Day, Connie and Gary Sobchak, Susan Cosulich, Carol Morphy and Monique Midgley.
Thanks to everyone who attended and supported this event. We will plan another School House Stomp for the upcoming year.
