A "sourdough" on the Douglas Trail, 1858

The Douglas Trail was constructed in the fall of 1858. This was the first public works project on the mainland. It was initiated by Governor Douglas to ensure food and freight could be transported to the goldfields inland.

Johnny Jones at next week's Tea & Tales

Johnny Jones will be talking about Lil'wat Archaeology next week.  This Tale was originally scheduled for August 24th but due to the Meager Creek slide Johnny's work schedule has changed so he will visit the museum on August 17th.
Johnny is a Cultural Technician with the Land and Resource Department and has spent his life walking and studying Lil'wat traditional territory.
