A "sourdough" on the Douglas Trail, 1858

The Douglas Trail was constructed in the fall of 1858. This was the first public works project on the mainland. It was initiated by Governor Douglas to ensure food and freight could be transported to the goldfields inland.

Young Canada Works grant approved!

The museum has successfully applied to the Young Canada Works in Heritage program this year.  The YCW program provides funding for a student wage - up to 75% of the total wage

This position will help the museum deliver programs and assist with promotion of museum events and programs.  There will be an ad in the Pique next week and we will accept applications from eligible candidates until May 14th.
