A "sourdough" on the Douglas Trail, 1858

New Building fundraising update

The museum is building a new administration and display building.  The displays will be downstairs and much needed expanded archival storage and processing space will be upstairs.

The display downstairs will showcase the collection of equipment in the current machine shed.  The machine shed was built as a temporary structure in 1995, so you can imagine the need for the new building that will provide much needed environmental controls for this material.

The new building got it's sprinkler system installed this month along with snowstops on the roof.  Windows are slated for installation later in the month.  George Henry, David Midgley and Laurie Laursen are actively fundraising for material or funding for the new building.

A "Buy a Bit" campaign is on where each participant can buy a single sheet of gyproc or a bundle of insulation or a single board.  Every single person can make a difference in teh long term preservation of the community memory.  Please get involved and spread the word!

A copy of the "Buy a Bit" form can be found on our home page at www.pembertonmuseum.org
