A "sourdough" on the Douglas Trail, 1858

The Douglas Trail was constructed in the fall of 1858. This was the first public works project on the mainland. It was initiated by Governor Douglas to ensure food and freight could be transported to the goldfields inland.

Art Exhibition: Orayne Carrie

Starting Sept 04: Art Exhibition.

Orayne Carrie of Birken B.C. exhibits her work. Oil, Acylic, Multi-media and Watercolour originals can be viewed daily in the Logging Display Building at the museum.
