The Douglas Trail was constructed in the fall of 1858. This was the first public works project on the mainland. It was initiated by Governor Douglas to ensure food and freight could be transported to the goldfields inland.

Society has launched a new website. This Pemberton Museum website contains
an integrated blog where the Museum will post news and updates on
events and much more.
The website was designed and developed by Custom Fit Online Solutions, a Pemberton web development company.
